2017 Les Tupper Nomination Information

Annually since 1969, the La Caņada Flintridge Coordination Council has presented the Les Tupper Community Service Award to individuals and organizations that have given outstanding service to the community.  A Student Service Award was later added.  These awards are named in honor of Les Tupper, a civic leader who cared deeply about education, youth and service enhancing the quality of life in the La Caņada Flintridge (LCF) community.

You are invited to nominate candidates for the 2017 Les Tupper Service Awards.  Former recipients have been individuals, couples, students (grades 11/12), and/or LCF organizations and businesses.

This year's award recipients will be recognized at a public ceremony on April 10, 2017 (7 pm) at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in the Von Karman Auditorium.  Names of recipients will be announced and published through local media prior to the event and the community is encouraged to attend.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR NOMINATIONS

To assist the Coordinating Council Board of Directors in selecting the outstanding award recipients, your nomination should be specific, not general in nature.  Nominations should be supported by how, when, where, what, why, how long, number of hours, and should describe the people who benefited from the service.

Conclusions such as 'She/He is conscientious and dependable', 'very active' and 'volunteers a lot' are too general.  Provide specific details to support nominations rather than generalities.
